Round Bale Hay Nets in 6cm - 60 ply Netting

Please note unable to express post this item due to not being able to fit into express satchel.

60 Ply – Mostly Lime Green in colour

Regarded as a ‘one size fits all’ hay net, these will fit all sizes of round bales as well as the large export bales (8x3x3 and 8x3x4).

These 6cm sized nets will not really ‘slow down’ the rate of consumption, but they will still hold the bale together and save on wastage.  Great for older horses, or course/stalky hay, Rhodes grass hay or where the horses will be less enthused to want to eat through 4cm netting if the hay is a bit less palatable etc.

Putting your Hay Net on a Round Bale

Firstly position your hay roll on its side so you can pull off the twine or string keeping it together.  Then put the hay net over onto the top of the bale before you undo strings etc.  If your hay bale stays together then putting the net over first isn't necessary, but some bales such as oaten fall apart quickly, so this way you have net in place ready to pull down quickly to contain the hay.

Remove the strings or twine keeping your round bale together and start to pull the net down around the bale.

Once the string is removed, you can then pull the netting down the side of the bale to the ground.

Pull your draw string tight at the base and then either undo the knot at the end of the rope and redo it at the base of the net and let the remaining rope be free, or you can simply tie the remaining length of your draw string back up into the net so it is't free to get caught in.  Your round bale is now ready to go.  Enjoy watching your horses EAT their hay instead of laying on it, pooping on it and weeing on it :-)

Please note that the 6x4 is a 'one size fits all hay net' and will fit all sizes of round bales. Obviously it will be big, but the excess netting can simply be rolled up along one edge of the net and tied off in a couple of sections using twine to take up the slack.
